Colby H @ColbyBHarrell 4 days ago Finally got around to re-watching this movie as I am now 24 years old. A handful of movies have moved me, but this one, by far, moved me the most. Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer carry the emotion throughout the movie while Emma Stone stands out as our eyes and voice through the story. Bryce Dallas Howard plays her role as the "villain" so perfectly that I can not see any other actress in the role. Perfect cast, perfect pacing and an incredible script. Black or white, we bleed the same. God Bless. See more Robert P @Superbad Sep 20, 2026 The Help = a 4.5 star Movie... See more Brian D @Brianwd2 Sep 6, 2026 82%. 8/29/26. Started a bit slow but grew to really like this film. Love Emma stones character and her insisting on writing about the experiences of maids in Alabama. Really sad the treatment they receive from white woman like Jessica Chastanes character. Loved seeing the bonds they build with the white kids and the adoration they have for these women who were their true caretakers when their moms did little. Positive story from a sad period. 4/5 rewatch See more Kristopher K @RT59549386 Sep 5, 2026 It has been several years since I have seen this film....but got to watch it again tonight. Sometimes a film comes along that is a masterpiece. Like the original THE COLOR PURPLE and FORREST GUMP...these classic films move you, make you think, and make you admire everyone involved. From the writers, director, ideal casting....it is kismet when it all comes together so perfectly. EVERY performance in this film stands out. Emma Stone, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer, Jessica Chastain, Bryce Dallas Howard, Allison Janney, Sissy Spacek, Cicely Tyson, and soooo many more excel in each of their roles. Writer/Director Tate Taylor was nominated for many awards, and justly so. It amazes me he didn't go on to to many more films..a few...but none reached the impact of this gem. Set in the South during the racist early 60's of our nation, Tate captures the hate and struggle our country and its hard workers were dealing with at the time. Everyone should see this film.... It's obvious they're going for the crowd-pleaser, and don't want to upset anyone by making conservatives the villain. But if you're going to make a political stance, commit with strength or not at all, otherwise you undermine your hero's triumph and the overall message. See more Read all reviews
