Following her rescue from the devastating Quarter Quell, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) awakes in the complex beneath the supposedly destroyed District 13. Her home, District 12, has been reduced to rubble, and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) is now the brainwashed captive of President Snow (Donald Sutherland). At the same time, Katniss also learns about a secret rebellion spreading throughout all of Panem -- a rebellion that will place her at the center of a plot to turn the tables on Snow.

This is certainly a film adults can get into. The explosions, propaganda techniques, and unrest are a reminder of a history not entirely out of reach; a world and society all too realistic. for many living today.

Set aside criticisms about dividing the final film. Mockingjay Part 1 is a serviceable extrapolation of the series' interest in personal vs public responsibility & PTSD. The adult cast is stacked, though dir Lawrence's focus is clearly action over actors

This one gets into the weeds a little. Solid story IF you buy into Katniss' incredulous distress over Peeta's mistreatment by the capital. A few brilliant moments I suspect are thanks to screenwriter Peter Craig.

Este filme parece ser mais uma grande preparação para o que está por vir. Sinto que não gostei tanto quanto esperava. O final tem uma grande reviravolta, mas, fora isso, o filme não tem muito a oferecer. Parece novo, mas é entediante. Realmente não tenho muito mais a dizer.

Really the only reason it's missing half a star is because of prior issues that bleed into this one. I just don't see the Peeta love. He's just way too inconsistent for me to feel anything. Story wise, great follow up to Catching Fire.

(Overall Rating: 4.17/5) (Very Good) --- (Cinematography/Atmosphere: 4/5) Good attention to detail with the makeup in this movie. The setting not being based around the arena was fairly bland but I get what they were going for. --- (Storyline/Plot: 4.25/5) I think my favorite story wise so far into the series. Glad it was not a three peat. The rebellion spin is great! --- (Acting: 4.5/5) Acting was phenominal. Lawrence had a very powerful emotional scene that was gut wrenching and showed true emotional pain. Supporting cast were amazing! --- (Character Quality: 4/5) Everyone finally seems like they are settling into the characters they are supposed to be. --- (Entertainment Value: 3.75/5) A bit slow on action but great story telling kept me engaged --- (Expectations vs. Reality: 4.5/5) I honestly had low expectations after the previous film in the series, this was much better than I expected. Much darker!
