The modern world holds many secrets, the most astounding being that witches still live among us. Centuries ago, Kaulder managed to slay the all-powerful Witch Queen, decimating her followers in the process. Before her death, she cursed the valiant warrior with her own immortality, separating him from his beloved wife and daughter in the afterlife. Her resurrection now threatens the survival of the human race as Kaulder, the only one of his kind remaining, faces her vengeful wrath.

Critics Consensus

Grim, plodding, and an overall ill fit for Vin Diesel's particular charms, The Last Witch Hunter will bore and/or confuse all but the least demanding action-fantasy fans.

Diesel is definitely not the kind of actor who can effortlessly coast through a film by dint of his rakish wit and charm. He needs a vehicle (ahem) that plays to his strengths. The Last Witch Hunter is definitely not such a vehicle.

Picture Harry Potter for Emo kids. No wonder there's already a sequel in the works. Brood on, Vin.

As bad as you might expect, 'The Last Witch Hunter' proudly displays Vin Diesel's inability to act in an overlong CG-heavy shower of visual senselessness and narrative apathy.

Operates in a series of tropes and clichés, neither improving nor innovating upon them.

Diesel is fast and furious enough to deliver the Conan the Barbarian level dialogue ('The benefit of eternal life is that I get to kill you twice!') with conviction but the movie is dull enough you'll wish these witches would go away for a spell.

Even though this is a light action commedy movie I St lol recommend for watchlist, cause it's quite ok. Many people who expect massive CGI effect packed movie will be disappointed. Even so, I even like it more because massive CGI scenes usually don't add anything to the movie itself. So choose this movie to spend some time on decent movie with actual storyline.

This movie moves at a faster pace than Diesel’s RX-7 at the start of F&F. While watching it, I kept trying to figure out what is it about this movie that still makes it "watchable," because I don’t feel like I completely wasted my time but can’t say I’d recommend it to anyone. After reading several reviews, it seems that it sort of plucks out various ideas that would interest various people, if not straight up copycatting notable concepts, that then gets mashed into a massive pulp of pop culture that a $90 million budget can at least polish and make look nice with high production quality and big names. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to make sense half the time, which is nice to hear others comment as well (for a minute I thought it was just me) and unfortunately it just doesn’t really embellish aspects that could have made it a more recommendable film. Regardless, it did entertain me and keep me in a positive mood, so that was nice.
