A dismal kids' comedy in which all creativity stopped after casting lookalikes for the old "rascals" was completed.

This could've been far worse. The child actors were actually pretty good.

I didn't like the really cringe moments but it's surprisingly heartfelt and genuinely funny at times.

Spheeris appears caught between her desire to make a film for little children and amuse their parents, resulting in a mess that will do anything for a cheap laugh.

The Little Rascals, directed by Penelope Spheeris, was originally a funny comic strip, but now, with all of the new interpreted end of the story, it lost its action-packed scenes. Since there have been so many variations, by the time the movie came out in the late 1900's everyone had already known the plot to the story. In the beginning of the movie, we see the members of the "He Man, Woman Hater Club" all gathering around the hut to watch Alfalfa (played by Bug Hall) go on a date with Darla. The boys are disgusted with Alfalfa liking a girl. In the middle, we see that due to Alfalfa going on a date in the hut, the boys set the hut on fire, leading to them having to win a race-car race in order to get the money to rebuild the hut. At the end of the movie, the boys win the race and, with the help from Darla, they realize that girls are indeed not horrible and are brilliant. I also think that is the purpose of the movie, to show that women are talented and also smart.

"The Little Rascals" does one thing many film adaptations of television shows fail to do. It honors the original source material, but also adds a modern day edge and successfully ropes in the younger audience. Mixing several plots together to tell a cohesive story was genius. What is the strongest thing about this film is its cast. Especially Bug Hall's charming Alfalfa and the fierce but adorable Darla played to perfection by Brittany Ashton Holmes. The celebrity cameos are also great, you have Mel Brooks, Whoopi Goldberg, Reba McEntire and Donald J. Trump. "The Little Rascals" isn't just a cute charming kids film, but it's one for both the long time fans and the new ones. Bravo Universal!

The movie is fun, and that's it. Not everything needs to be a masterpiece. Sometimes these so-called critics seem to be just a bunch of envious, egocentric, and frustrated people.
