As director Wes Ball builds the eeriness around the complex entrapment of a community of boys living a Lord Of The Flies type existence, he is ably aided by imaginative and well-executed production design and special effects. Go to Full Review

Ultimately, Ball does what he can with rather weak material, and leaves us with an entertaining blockbuster that sets a good precedent and a bit of anticipation for the prospect of the inevitable sequel. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Amir A @AmazingAmir09_ 2d The use of the close up camera on the tense scenes when the dilemma of the griever is attacking Thomas and Minho really makes me feel as if I’m witnessing this daunting situation engrossing my into the story hoping for their survival. In Addition, Standout characters for me are Thomas played by Dylan O’Brien as his performance of anxiety, curiosity and fear you really sympathise and connect with that ultimately making me root for him to escape the entrapped maze and seek freedom. Although morally different characters and are foils to each other, Gally played by Will Poulter is a refreshing antagonist for me as his ignorance fuelled by jealousy conveys a strong divide and conflict in the story setting him up to be a key intervention of the other Gladers from escaping the maze. Moreover, the cinematography and visual effects stood out to me as for a movie that is 11 years old from today visually looks exponentially better than movies today. I highly recommend See more LionKing X @LionKingXII Feb 12 I think the acting was great, and I loved the story. I will say I never read the books, and everyone will tell you read the books first, I can't disagree, but this movie was a great watch and i defentily reccomend. See more @Leannee Feb 8 I’m so over directors taking amazing book series and rewriting them into something barely recognizable. The Maze Runner is one of my favorite series, but the movie strayed so far from the book it might as well have had a different name. So many important details were cut. If you want creative freedom, write your own story, don’t piggy back someone else’s masterpiece. What happened to when directors were actually good directors. Truly disappointed in this movie. Director Wes... If I could give no stars I would. Dylan O'Brien you did amazing. Directors, please stop ruining good stories. See more Marcus G. @marcusg Feb 7 Great performance from Dylan O'Brien and the rest of the cast. Good pacing and next level action sequences. Love how Thomas knows just as much as us and we discover the secrets of his world with him. Some parts weren't explained well enough (ex. why the runners can't just climb the walls) compared to the books, but overall great acting, great action, great sound design, and an intriguing yet original plot that stands out in a sea of Hunger Games clones.
