Reinvigorating an ancient adventure with majestic sweep and sterling work by its colossal ensemble, Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey imbues myth with primal human feeling.

Audience Says

A cinematic epic fit for the biggest screens, The Odyssey proves with technical precision and unrestrained grandeur that there’s no filmmaker quite like Christopher Nolan to steer Odysseus’ voyage home.

Like the filmmaker’s last work, ‘Oppenheimer,’ ‘The Odyssey’ has a downbeat, apocalyptic bent—but, unlike ‘Oppenheimer,’ or any previous Nolan film, the new film is also centrally about what human beings owe one another.

The Odyssey delivers a few knockout set pieces; powerfully pounding, pulsating percussion from triple-Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Göransson (Oppenheimer, Sinners); and a third act that builds to an explosive, action-packed finale.

Beautiful cinematography and really good Homeric editing. However, the IMAX is so loud that it distort the dialogue. Either put in subtitles or lower the volume.

It’s a masterpiece. Just an epic film that is a masterwork by an all time great director. No one else make movies like Nolan. And a script that very cleverly adapts The Odyssey for our own time.
