The Predator is the worst film in the franchise. Terrible story, characters, and visual effects. The yautja aliens were the only cool things in the film.

Even if you accept that it doesn't keep any sense, "The Predator" is mindless and only mildly enjoyable. Much more comic relief than you'd expect or the movie needs, but still some gruesome deaths and good set design. Sets up for an Earth-based sequel which was thankfully never made. Olivia Munn looks like she's having fun, and the always-welcome Yvonne Strahovsky is in a few scenes. For some reason, the Predators now stupidly have dogs. Extra half-star for Strahovsky.

Don’t get me wrong. This was a huge flop and a massive letdown in terms of both the franchise and the fan base, but if you watch it for what it is, it can be a fun movie. There’s not much to say about the decorum of the movie, but the acting was fun, I think the characters had good chemistry, and the half–military comedy also added some good flavour. Other than that, the idea that this autistic kid is some super genius which just happens to figure out alien technology is a bit of a cop out and a cheap shot. That being said, I think this is still a fun watch. At least once.
