Lily M @lilixxmoon Jan 26 I am a big fan of mysteries and thrillers. The cast seemed strong, the locations for filming are beautiful and don't get me wrong I quite enjoy a slow burn film. However, ultimately I can't begin to describe how disappointed I thought this particular film is. Without giving away any spoilers all I can say is it doesn't build towards a worth while pay off. It lacked some much needed twists and turns. The ultimate explanation provided for the lackluster chain of events, and poor decision making from the characters falls very flat. Leaving me asking what was the point of all that? Anyways, wouldn't waste my time there are much better thrillers out there. I'll take over the top cliches or even cartoonish villains over this bleak movie that is the least thrilling film I may have ever seen. Skip. You know that more terrible things will happen, but you do not know to whom, how, and when, so you are just waiting and waiting… Great film with great actors! I appreciated the father/son dynamic that’s suggested between the male leads although it’s not satisfactorily developed. Also, Dunst doesn’t seem to have much to do during her all-to-brief appearance other than to perhaps fleetingly tempt the Issac character. But I need more than just pretty locations and good performances. This film overall simply isn’t compelling or involving enough to generate enough interest or suspense to make it worthwhile.
