Critics Consensus

To All the Boys I've Loved Before plays by the teen rom-com rules, but relatable characters and a thoroughly charming cast more than make up for a lack of surprises.

Thanks to films like To All The Boys I've Loved Before, The Edge of Seventeen, and Running from Grace, Asian American teenagers can see dimensional versions of themselves onscreen who are worthy of falling in love, no matter who they end up with. Thrills in part because most viewers are all too familiar with what it feels like to baldly deny feelings for another person even as they become patently obvious to everyone else. Go to Full Review Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald Aug 29, 2018
Much of the movie's success is down to Condor's gentle appeal and her quiet chemistry with co-star Noah Centineo . Go to Full Review Aaron Charles InSession Film May 9, 2024

One must mention the performance by Condor. Her comedic timing is perfect, but more than that, she really embodies this character... Go to Full Review Patricia Karounos Refinery29 Oct 23, 2023

See more Dnnyy C @RT21897579 Oct 7, 2026 great movie! not sure about that one bit where she goes to sleep on the ski trip and wakes up - just didn't sit well See more Robert P @Superbad Oct 2, 2026 This is a *4.5* star Movie! See more Matthew D @MatthewDeCl Sep 19, 2026 I personally haven't read the books myself, but based on this movie, it's good. It has charming and good vibes and definitely captures that teen romance that most teenage girls have or have gone through. Props to Kitty—without her delivering the letters, then Lara Jean would have never mailed them herself. Then she would have never fake-dated Peter or been true to herself, realizing that she's yearning for true love at some point in life too. See more Maxwell D @RT23658084 Aug 20, 2026 An incredible watch, with plenty of romance, lots of comedy and a very intriguing plot See more R T @RT57318277 Jul 30, 2026 Solid movie and kept me intrigued. I’ve watched this like ten times See more Read all reviews
