If it had lived up to its golden first five minutes, Up would have been the film of the decade. As it is, it remains the best animated flick of 2009, a funny, moving, beautifully made argument that dreamers can move mountains. Go to Full Review

... a film of whimsy and wonder, mixing Jules Verne imagination with the bubble-gum colors of a children’s picture book and Pixar’s trademark bouncy humor, all stirred with memories of childhood dreams. Go to Full Review

Simon T @Bucksplit 23h I liked Up a lot more the second time round. It is so beautifully animated and touching, dealing as it does with universal themes, such as the transience of love, the bonds of youth and age. Like most Pixar efforts, its best moments are in the first half-hour. By the time old man Friedrickson and his stowaway Russell have arrived in Paradise Falls in his balloon driven house, the story becomes ridiculous and much more conventional: dogs communicating via microchip, a hero turned villain, etc. But the animation redeems everything. See more @RT48940923 May 26 "Up" is cartoon by directors Pete Docter and Bob Peterson. It’s a comedy-drama. It tells about Carl’s and his friends’ adventures. After his wife’s death, Carl decides to travel to the "Paradise Falls" in his house with balloons. Suddenly the boy Russell flies with him. They meet a big bird (Kevin) and a talking dog (Dug). Angry dogs chase them to take the bird. Later the dogs lead them to Charles Muntz. He wants to take the bird very much. Carl, Russell, Dug and Kevin escape, but Charles finds them and takes the bird. Russell, Carl and Dug go to rescue her. They do it and come home in Charles’s dirigible, but Carl loses his house. In the end, Carl and Russell eat ice cream and look at cars in their city. I’m really interested in this cartoon because it is very funny and interesting. It’s the perfect film for people who like to laugh and enjoy adventure and exciting stories as well.
