Michael P @MikeP29 1 day ago Whilst formulaic and a bit predictable, it ultimately is an engrossing movie that shines by giving it's characters time to breathe and set the scene. The acting from Ritchson was a stand out even if some dialogue was a bit cheesy at times. The action was brutal and well shot with the cinematography looking excellent, even if it felt like it was a lacking on the production design part and the score being cheesy as heck. The story had a genuinely good understanding of what it was and gave the main character time to breathe, even if it didn't do the same for anyone else. As an experience, I had a really good time with it See more Michal L @RT83752220 5 days ago I really enjoyed War Machine! The alien technology might seem a little strange at times, but then again, I've never seen real alien technology to compare it with! 😄 The action was great, the movie kept me entertained, and Alan Ritchson delivered a fantastic performance. It's not a perfect film, but it's definitely worth watching, especially if you enjoy sci-fi action movies. See more Joe K @RT20232083 Oct 6, 2026 I went in not thinking much of it. A movie about the military starring Alan Ritchson. I thought, "Awesome, I like military movies, and I like Ritchson". The movie starts with brothers wanting to become Rangers, which is quickly followed by an attack on the convoy by al-Qaeda. Cut to black, and now Ritchson (81 now) is in Ranger bootcamp. He's pushing himself to his limits, trying to reach the finish. Then all of a sudden, there are aliens. Great, another Battleship movie. Overall, it was entertaining enough to keep my attention, but this whole time after the Aliens enter the scene, I have this cringe feeling in the back of my mind. I mean, come on, everything is Aliens, Monsters, or Zombies anymore. See more Peter M @Peter215 Oct 5, 2026 I actually like the plot and progression of the story. But Alan Ritchson as the lead is a hard watch. If they chose a competent actor as the lead, it would have been a fun movie! See more Carol P @RenePTA Oct 5, 2026 Nice to see someone let Alan Ritchson show some emotional range in this movie. Enjoyed the concept, action and storyline. Ending was ok but felt a little rushed and left hanging…sequel opening I suppose. See more yunus S @yunusshukor Oct 4, 2026 Ratio: 2 : 2 : 5 PLOMOTACT Scale Breakdown Plot (2): The narrative setup is intetionally straightforward and high-concept. It follows an elite Army Ranger training exercise that transforms into a fight for survival when an alien killing machine attacks the squad. While it features a fun mid-movie genre shift, the storyline remains classic popcorn-flick territory. Emotion (2): Anchored by Ritchson's character grieving his fallen brother, the film embeds themes of camaraderie, duty, and peseverance. However, these character motivations serve primarily as a grounded emotional backdrop to drive the combat scenario forward. Action (5): Action is the primary driving force of the film. Built as an old-school survival action movie, it leans heavily into physical stunts, tactical firefights, brutal combat enconters, and large set pieces against an otherworldly threat.
