See more Alexander J @RT10354735 1 day ago The opening desert with her survivalist gear and goggles riding a giant cat companion with beautiful colors and synth music immediately grabbed me. I was like, "yeah, this is cool" then the desert animals and plants are shown alongside crystal formations protruding from the sand and again I though "that's cool". Then Pavi saves a beetle... and I thought "this isn't just cool, this is beautiful". I love her character design, I love her voice, and I love her personality. The more characters that were shown, the more environments that were revealed, all just reinforced that love. I was hooked in under 5 minutes. This show has it's own identity and feels more like a little corner of the Avatar-verse. There are recognizable elements (pun intended) but this is it's own thing and I love it. This is coming from a HUGE fan of the original series. Please watch this on it's own merits. I've rewatched the first 3 episodes twice. This show is art. But the biggest gripe is that this is an animated series. So animation has to be considered. It is a regression in this aspect. When the mouthing feels off, the backgrounds seemingly fixated/planted. Yes, the animation is different, but not bad. It works well, the geometric and culturally relevant designs are still present and the storytelling is surprisingly remarkable. Without spoiling too much, I will say, the show has all of the heart and emotional depth that you may have come to expect from the series. If the writing can maintain this level of quality over many seasons, this may wind up being the best of the Avatar series.
