Marit Risto F @RT66247982 Aug 28, 2025 Too American for me. Several great attempts though See more Micah H @RT36741898 Mar 28, 2025 Not as good as the book due to being rushed, but overall still pretty good and enjoyable. See more Aug 8, 2019 It suffers from old-movie syndrome. Conspicuous devices. Weak acting. But it's a respectable story for its time. The main character has some amusing traits. There is a strong abolitionist theme. 5.1 out of 10 See more Jul 27, 2019 Major discrepancies between the classic book and this movie threaten to downgrade the project, but several of the changes work better to illustrate on film the societal expectations and social needs of the 1800s United States. See more May 13, 2017 A clean and watered down version of the Mark Train story. Well made and acted for the era. See more Apr 24, 2017 I love Mickey Rooney! And he doesn't fail to entertain once again. In Hollywood during this time if you had asked any actor who was the best actor in Hollywood they would answer, "Mickey Rooney!" The movie is mostly a comedy, although there are some touching dramatic scenes. Its good to see William Farley before he was "Fred" on "I Love Lucy". Funny and entertaining with a good message.
