When a western Pennsylvania auto plant is acquired by a Japanese company, brokering autoworker Hunt Stevenson (Michael Keaton) faces the tricky challenge of mediating the assimilation of two clashing corporate cultures. At one end is the Japanese plant manager (Gedde Watanabe) and the sycophant (Sab Shimono) who is angling for his position. At the other, a number of disgruntled long-time union members (George Wendt, John Turturro) struggle with the new exigencies of Japanese quality control.

Keaton is lovable, as usual, but he comes across as a dumb jerk. This was an obvious attempt at 1930s-type social comedy. Social it may have been; comedic it wasn't.

It's a strange film, first because it's a comedy, but it feels more like a corporate video to boost production. However, in the end, it isn't. It's a message to two cultures so opposed that it's hard to believe they can work together. The problem is that it falls short in every way.

Thoughtful, charming, optimistic, if not a little ridiculous. It was definitely entertaining and had some funny moments. Worth seeing as a late night romp, keep expectations in check though.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, a história é fraca, os personagens sao fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes para fazer o filme ser bom.
