I guess I was willing to look past it, because I finished watching this "movie." I for one found this to be the most predictable plot I can recall. Great if you like slow, plodding plotlines that droll inexorably towards their end... Maybe this is a metaphor? I couldn't say if this was intentional, but this one definitely could have been sped up. I felt like Beachum's character, really the whole Beachum family, did an outstanding job and out-acted Clint by about a mile. Clint's gritty, soulless character made me think he could play the grim reaper pretty well. So, good job, I guess? He definitely nails that indescribable attitude that he sort of has in every role, and it is prominently on display here, as he sleeps with his boss' wife without remorse. Gosh, I think this could have been a pretty good hour long movie, but as a full length feature, it really drags on. No surprises, just Clint running (more like walking) around following his "nose." Nothing interesting, and other than Beachums, no characters I really cared about or liked, with one obvious exception: James Woods' character, the salty wise-ass editor in chief, was outstanding. I actually laughed out loud... Best writing in the whole show. Overall, not Clint's best and not really worth watching. Skip it, or just watch the James Woods parts and call it a day. See more r 9 02/07/2022 Surprisingly straightforward, though 'True Crime' is still very good. The lead performance of Clint Eastwood is enjoyable and he is supported ably by Isaiah Washington. There are a number of recognisable faces behind those two, namely Denis Leary, Michael McKean, James Woods and Bernard Hill; Lucy Liu even has a minor role. I did think we were in for a biggest twist, but it kinda just goes the wall you - or, at least, I - expected. That's not actually a bad thing, as what is produced is entertaining and kept me interested throughout - it just feels like it is setting something different up at one or two points. I will say, if I had anything close to a negative it would be the humour - which sometimes works, but sometimes doesn't; no biggie, though. See more Read all reviews
