In 2028, OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. While its drones have long been used by the military overseas, their use is forbidden in American law enforcement. However, OmniCorp gets a golden opportunity to crack that market when Detroit cop Alex Murphy is critically injured in the line of duty. By transforming Murphy into a cyborg, OmniCorp executives hope to rake in billions for their shareholders, but they forget one thing: There's still a man inside the machine.

[A]fter an opening sequence as promising as the one here, it needs at least an attempted follow-through, not the jumble of confused ideas and time-wasting effects that take up the bulk of the film.

I just watched *RoboCop (2014)*, and I actually enjoyed it. The action is great, the visuals are impressive, and the story keeps you interested. It's not as iconic as the original, but it's a solid sci-fi movie with a good mix of action and emotion.

Damn! This was bad, like in really really bad. A hot mess more. It was a cheap knock off trie to relounge the the RoboCop franchise. Wich it soul is allready sold! Nothing works to be honest and the design of RoboCop was horrible. Don't get me wrong I had great watching this movies. But the first one was a great movie. After that it went down hard!

In my opinion, the RoboCop remake is one of the worst films ever made. It's awful and doesn't even come close to the original 1987 film. The biggest problem is the character's complete lack of empathy; he seems more like a generic mix of Batman and a ninja than the hero we know. The choice of the black armor was a terrible mistake and a lack of respect for Peter Weller's legacy. But the "original sin" of this version is undoubtedly the absence of soul and violence. Where is the blood and visceral intensity that made the first film so real? Turning RoboCop into a "clean" action film without the social satire of the original was a cinematic crime. Unfortunately, this black version is garbage that I prefer to forget. The 1987 classic remains unsurpassed.
