Bill T @btreakle Jul 9 “5lbs Of Pressure “ This movie here is a typical movie about the dealings of drugs and the heavy consequences that one could pay in this underworld of thugs. Luke Evans and Rory culkin star in this movie and do a real good job of portraying drug dealers. It is also a story of a man who was recently paroled to try to reconnect with his son. And without giving up too much more I’m gonna leave it at that. This movie has a lot of violence and killing so it may not be for everyone but All in all a good movie. The main character is the nicest, sweetest murderer you will ever want to meet but everyone just keeps picking on him. It's too bad Karmelo Anthony did not have this guy's attorney representing him as he only served thirteen years for a unaliving some dude by busting a cap in his a. I kept hoping the Equalizer would show up and wipe out this whole cast of characters and low life petty criminals. Now THAT would have been a satisfying movie! The story has a few compelling moments, yet much of the film feels restrained when it should have been more intense. I expected a grittier, more aggressive thriller, but instead it often plays things too safely, which keeps the emotional and dramatic stakes from hitting as hard as they could. Luke Evans delivers a solid performance, and I enjoyed the storyline involving his character slowly becoming part of his son’s life without the boy realizing who he really is. That relationship becomes the strongest part of the movie and gives it genuine heart Unfortunately, the screenplay misses several opportunities to raise the tension and create more meaningful conflict.
