It was actually 'A Star Is Born' (1976) with Barbra Streisand & Krist Krisrofferson. This was the best version. Way better than the 2018 Lady Gaga. I LOVE Barbra Streusand. Music was wonderful. Acting wonderful.

I had skipped this for many years, pretty much imagining my opinion. But as I like Bradley Cooper and Sam Elliot I finally checked it out. Unfortunately it is, in fact, a lot worse than I imagined. Though it starts out quite alright, it soon becomes excessively boring and predictable. My gosh, what a crap.

Bradley Cooper’s iteration of A Star Is Born is an undeniably effectively made drama that pulses with raw, musical energy. While the film’s pacing occasionally falters in the final act, feeling like it drags out a little too long, the emotional payoff remains heavy and sincere. The true heart of the movie lies in the lead performances; Lady Gaga and Cooper have dynamic chemistry that feels both intimate and electric, grounding the soaring soundtrack in a painful, believable reality.
