MM R @RT90915261 Apr 6, 2026 A Retro Horror That Knows How to Have Fun Air Shift is a fun, retro-style horror thriller set inside a late-night radio station, and it makes great use of that contained setting. It starts off with a nice sense of tension, then gradually turns into something more chaotic in a way that keeps things interesting. The cast really commits, which goes a long way and makes the whole thing more enjoyable. There’s an offbeat, playful vibe to it that makes it clear you’re not supposed to take it too seriously. It leans into its premise and has a lot of personality because of it. Overall, it’s just a solid, entertaining movie that’s easy to sit back and enjoy with a drink and some popcorn. See more Bill C @RT45130060 Mar 9, 2026 Air Shift is a retro throwback to the suspense-horror films of the 1980s. It’s a slow burn, but Ashlee Lawhorn delivers a strong performance as Lisa Richmond, and the rest of the cast matches her with a charming, goofy sincerity that keeps the film engaging. As a micro-budget production, the zombies are the weakest element—something bigger prosthetics could have helped—but the film wisely focuses on its real strength: the characters. Set inside a rural FM station packed with vintage gear, the movie leans hard into analog nostalgia as Lisa fights to save her radio show—and ultimately her life—while facing zombies, a serial killer, and an entitled musician. As more characters enter, the story shifts from tense to gleefully chaotic, blending humor, horror, and absurdity. Even if the destination feels familiar, the journey is an entertaining, midnight-movie ride. Set around Lisa (portrayed by Ashlee Lawhorn) a young and ambitious Radio DJ whose love of 70s rock and alternative speaks to the respect she has for her craft. She is an old soul grasping to hold on to a lost art as she battles to the bitter end to save her Radio show. She not only strives to save her livelihood but ultimately her life as she battles zombies, a serial killer and a new wave, entitled musician who just might be her most formidable opponent of the night. If you’re looking for a fun and original take on the zombie genre, then Air Shift has it all. The confined setting works to its advantage, creating a constant sense of urgency and claustrophobia. The performances feel grounded and authentic, especially the lead, who carries both the physical intensity and emotional weight of the story. It’s not just action for the sake of spectacle — there’s a strong human core beneath it. If you enjoy contained thrillers with real stakes and sharp pacing, this one is definitely worth the watch. While imperfect, it delivers light, genre-inflected entertainment anchored by a committed lead performance and a playful tonal identity. See more Daniel C @Cayarga Feb 23, 2026 A scrappy, high-energy indie that proves big fun can come from small budgets. This zombie bottle thriller takes place over one chaotic night inside a struggling radio station, where a late-night DJ suddenly finds herself trapped between a serial killer and a growing zombie outbreak. The film begins with a strong sense of tension, carefully building suspense before gradually loosening its grip and leaning into increasingly wild and unpredictable territory. As more characters enter the story, the tone shifts from suspenseful to gleefully chaotic, balancing humor, horror, and absurdity in an entertaining way. The cast is charming and fully committed to the premise, helping the film maintain momentum even as the situation spirals into madness. You’ll laugh, cringe, and root for the characters all at once. Even if the destination feels familiar, the journey there is what makes this a genuinely fun "sit back and enjoy the ride" movie. See more Read all reviews
