On paper, a 90-minute documentary involving the playing of a 3,000-year-old Chinese board game wouldn't seem to lend itself to adjectives like "lively" and "compelling," but darned if Greg Kohs' "AlphaGo" isn't those things and more. Maybe it’s because we’re all in the front row seat of this new AI roller coaster and we’re still not off the ride. It’s also compelling to watch a human wrestle with it. History is written mostly by people I have no respect for, but I respect 이세돌 greatly. On the biggest stage against increasing pressure and decreasing odds in his favor, he persevered and found a weakness and exploited it. Move 78 will not be forgotten by me at least.
