American Sweatshop is a cool and riveting thriller that gets under your skin, creeping up your spine to bend your brain. Like the internet videos that are its grim inspiration, it's not easy to shake off the chills American Sweatshop triggers. Go to Full Review

As often as this film frustrated me regarding Nemeth’s shallow script, I was impressed by the choices made by Lili Reinhart, who plays Daisy’s numbness not as apathy, but something fueled by frustration and anger. Go to Full Review

American Sweatshop feels like it’s casually swiping through its themes, never coalescing into a feed as unsettling as the real thing. Go to Full Review

Although the direction attempts to inject visual intensity, the lack of development in the supporting roles prevents the viewer from fully connecting with the protagonist's world, leaving the drama unfinished. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

The screenplay bends to slightly absurd dialogue and character choices that feel half-baked: "What the fuck is wrong with you?" demands Daisy’s boss, brandishing a printout of a video of a woman jumping from a 20-storey building. Go to Full Review

A tense (and scarily topical) look at the depravity of the Internet. The film thankfully subverts the inclination to become a female 8MM, instead focusing on the devastating mental impact of content moderation. Reinhart is excellent in an understated perf Go to Full Review

The idea is an intriguing one and a good example of ‘interesting because it is currently relevant to daily society’ but it left out most of what would have maintained intrigue and interest. This is an idea that really might be better explored as a television series for a major network. A lot more could have been done to pick up the pace and increase the tension and consequences to take it a level higher, rather than unintersting dialogue and character development, but it didn’t so it is what it is and left hovering around the bar... because no one really wants to put it above the bar and it is interesting enough to not be slammed definitively below the bar with disappointment and authority. See more Bisquiteen T @RT65021124 Feb 22 I WAS SO WITH THIS UNTIL THE ENDING! Why, why, why do you have to keep doing this to us. Why are professional writers coming up with endings that are like when I was five and ended every story with "and then everyone died in a nuclear war" because I couldn't think of a good way to conclude it? See more Jelisije J @jjosifovic Feb 5 Not a bad film, but the subject matter doesn't fill me with any true entertainment or enjoyment. Its a simple depressing one and done type of film.
