Although the 3D animation from that era looks quite dated now, the film makes up for it with an excellent classical music soundtrack, beautiful choreography, and a very solid fantasy story. It delivers a colorful fairy tale atmosphere that is easy to enjoy from start to finish. The film also has an interesting release history, as it was aired on Nickelodeon before it became available on DVD on September 18. This made it more accessible to audiences and helped build its popularity among fans of Barbie films.
