Bight is a slick thriller - at its core, it's an exploration of power dynamics, of the push and pull of art and commerce, artist and subject, boss and employee, and between lovers. Go to Full Review

Perhaps being too open isn’t the best idea when dealing with a vengeful visionary who knows how to tie a tight knot. Go to Full Review

Arthouse without the pretension and working through themes that cross over into taboo territories, Bight is more than just a character study in seduction. Go to Full Review

There's nothing particularly provocative about the film, which will surely disappoint fans of the subgenre, but probably won't matter to those just looking to pass the time. [Full review in Spanish]. Go to Full Review

Mike M @mikethewriter222 8h A sense of dread permeates the film from the very beginning, and it ramps up with each successive moment. The biggest highlight is that you have no clue where it's going. And when the film ends, they give you one final twist that leaves your mouth agape. You'll want a sequel, just to see what road the aftermath of the implications left behind will lead these characters down. Walsh proved herself triple-threat worthy; she directed the hell out of this film. Hapka was delightfully wicked in what may be his career best performance, thus far. Cowperthwaite's mult-layered performance was a master class. Stojan's noir-esque scenery chewing made you question her character's motivations until the very end. All four were so great that you didn't want to take your eyes off of any of them, for fear of missing the nuances they were all playing off of each other. In the vein of erotic thrillers "Basic Instinct", "Consenting Adults", "Final Analysis", and "Poison Ivy"..."Bight" can't be missed! See more Dawn C @DawnC11 2d I didn't know how much a movie could make me sweat. The relationship dynamics were so painfully real, and so steamy, I never knew what was going to happen next. This is a true indie film that delivers, and I'll be honest, I had to watch it twice I enjoyed it so much. I picked up even more nuance on the second watch. I loved the element of Shibari, and the conversation surrounding consent and what happens when boundaries are crossed. Grounded performances and scenes "as rich as the artist's f*ked up imaginations" as Naomi put it. Put it on your watch list. See more Lux @LexiAmos 2d I wasn't quite sure what to expect when watching a film that called itself an erotic thriller. I love a good psychological thriller but was a little apprehensive on how erotic it might get. I was pleasantly surprised to see how eroticism was conveyed, tastefully, and really moreso a tool for seduction and manipulation than an excuse to sell a movie through nudity. The performances were solid, the visuals striking, and it struck a chord that managed to hit dark comedy and tense thriller simultaneously. I like a good slow burn, and once the pressure's on, it doesn't stop until the lid's blown off. Highly recommend if you're into psychological thrillers. See more Rachel G @RachelGavin77 2d This is the best erotic thriller I’ve seen in a really long time. The performances are outstanding across the board and the film made me feel uncomfortable in the best possible way: tense, intrigued and completely absorbed from start to finish. It manages to be sexy without ever feeling gratuitous, which is rare for the genre. Every moment felt intentional, atmospheric and artistically crafted. It had everything I want in a film: suspense, emotional depth and a bold, captivating tone that kept me excited the entire time. Truly a beautiful piece of art! See more Jennifer S @Jsto560 3d Bight completely flipped my expectations. Mark Hapka starts off radiating arrogance and control, and you assume you understand the power dynamic right away. But by the end, everything you labeled as "strength" and "weakness" has shifted. The characters almost merge, and the confidence you trusted unravels in a way that’s both unsettling and brilliant. What I loved most was that slow psychological reversal. It made me question how quickly we judge power. Hapka’s performance is controlled and layered, and the transformation feels earned. Wild. Impressive. It stayed with me. See more Tanya G @Tanya163 3d This isn’t a genre I would normally watch but Bight was recommended to me by a friend. The tension between Charlie and Atticus, who I found to be relatable characters, was a good set up for what was to come. Later, when one felt suffocated and the other drowning, I thought how many of us felt the same at times in a relationship. They’d already overstepped some boundaries, and egged on by manipulators, got sucked into a whirlwind of bad choices. There are layers of issues surrounding control, consent, and boundaries being questioned or ignored that seemed true to life, even when carried to an extreme in the film. There was a cathartic element but it landed as more thought provoking than emotionally satisfying. See more Read all reviews
