Then the silly ‘I’ve seen it a million times before’ supernatural element kicks in. The ending is too confusing to the casual film goer. Ashame, this could’ve been great. See more Claudio C @Claudio666 Oct 29 Clock (2023) Awful Story (12,024 – 28 Oct 2025– by Claudio Carvalho) The decorator-architect Ella Patel (Dianna Agron) has been happily married to Dr. Aidan Patel (Jay Ali) for many years. She is thirty-seven years old, and although pressed by her father and friends, she never wanted to have children. Her mother died young of breast cancer and Aidan sends her to the experienced Dr. Webber (Nikita Patel) to exam her. Dr. Webber indicates Dr. Elizabeth Simmons (Melora Hardin), who is researching a method to fix the biologic clock of women that do not have the desire to breed. Ella submits to the treatment but there are side effects. “Clock” (2023) is a horror movie with an awful story. The plot is messy, with a renowned architect secretly submitting herself to experimental treatment to have the desire to have children. The side effects destroy her marriage and her life. But why a woman like Ella would be submitted to the treatment? Further, without discussing with her beloved husband. It does not make any sense. In the end, watching this movie is a waste of time. The only thing worthwhile watching is the good performances of the cast. My vote is four. Perhaps a woman can relate to the complexities of motherhood better than Ryan Murphy. The plot is very predictable if you're even slightly familiar with the horror genre, but that doesn't matter. Dianna Agron and Melora Hardin are excellent, and Alexis Jacknow directs her script solidly. The few jump scares scattered throughout were unnecessary and lame, but they don't spoil the atmosphere. The fact that "Clock" feels fresh despite the aforementioned weaknesses shows that there are still too few films (not just in the horror genre) told from a female perspective. It's subtle one moment and hyperbolically surreal, but just long enough for you to doubt, with the protagonist, that you didn't see what you have just seen. There are layers of complexity that you peel back delightfully. Horror should be depth and the fathoming the unfathomable, daring to go one inch further.
