Jay W @RT52162311 21h There were stretches of this film that were firing on all cylinders, and I was ready to call this one a modern animation classic. But then it keeps going. This movie is 6 minutes longer than the Takahata Princess Kaguya, and it doesn't need to be. Without a doubt, if you were to tell me to trim 20 minutes from this movie, I could do it. The movie has this Fortnite knock off that they play, and those sequences could be cut and nothing much would be missed. And the problem is, the rules of the made-up game are too complicated. Pod racing, I get, it’s just like Nascar but in space. The game they play in this is too complex. If it was just Fortnite knock off it would be more straight forward. But anyways, that would be the main thing I cut, along with some of the ending. There is one of the funniest jokes I've seen in this movie. And a lot of good, sweet stuff, with great animation and music throughout. Just one more trip through the editing bay and it would have been just right. See more FERNANDA M @RT72067886 2d Cosmic Princess Kaguya, directed by Shingo Yamashita, successfully adapts a 10th-century Japanese folktale into modern trends and concepts such as virtual reality and virtual idols, through its outstanding animation and soundtrack that follows the sweet story of Iroha and Kaguya. Iroha is first introduced to us as a hard worker and outstanding student, who puts a lot of effort into her every day routine to have a "stable life" and meet expectations, using her love and fanatism for the virutal singer, Yachiyo, as her only scape. Nonetheless, her routine would be soon be affected by the arrival of Kaguya. Overall, the way Yamashita connected the music and plot together, adding subtle foreshadowing to it was amazing, which makes you enjoy it the second time you get to watch the movie. Nonetheless, during the second part of the movie, the plot felt rushed, and I would have really liked to learn more about different characters that could have added a lot to Iroha's development and story. It can be a little hard to follow at times, but rewatching it can help with that. The story is a wonderful story of friendship and love. The music is great. And the story has a lot of good emotional beats. I highly recommend this one. And don't be deceived by the fake out, which was an awesome Netflix stunt. I hope you all enjoy watching this great show.
