In one story, a monster escapes from its holding cell. Another focuses on a husband (Leslie Nielsen) with a creative way of getting back at his cheating wife. Other stories concern a rural man (Stephen King) and a visitor from outer space, and a homeowner (E.G. Marshall) with huge bug problems and a boozing corpse.

It's uneven, as anthologies often are, but Creepshow is colorful, frequently funny, and treats its inspirations with infectious reverence.

It was great to see this film back on the big screen after 43 years (a 40th Anniversary screening was a missed opportunity!). The third of Stephen King's very hit or miss theatrical film adaptions. As the original tagline boasts "...the most fun you'll have being scared...". Great practical special effects, lots of well-placed jump scares, a cast (including a pre-"Cheers" Ted Danson and very young Ed Harris) - and the late Leslie Nielsen at his unhinged best! Plus, cameos by director George A. Romero's stable, including John Amplas (who portrayed the title character from GAR's "Martin" a reanimated corpse here) and Christine Forrest (GAR's wife) as well as an uncredited Ned Beatty during a phone conversation during the last segment - among several others. With Stephen King and George A, Romero at the helm, this is what a horror anthology should be...the (inevitable) sequels and others of this genre - "Trick 'R Treat" comes to mind - all pale by comparison to this 1982 classic. It's Halloween time...watch this - but not alone!

The mother of all anthology films, this unique and subversive film, is so out of left field that it actually works!!! A fun, if a bit crazy, the whole film is good from beginning to end, and I have to say if I'm going to waste time this is how to do it!!! Love you Creepshow!!!
