Critics Consensus

Double Dragon's clever use of special effects cannot mask the film's overly simplistic storyline and cheesy dialogue.

Since nothing about the film is taken seriously, there's a bit of fun to be had with the exaggerated makeup effects, pervasive sarcasm, and kung fu combat.

Well shot and set-dressed, but otherwise full of bad dialogue, poor acting, and so very little plot or even fighting scenes. To be avoided!

Maybe I hold this one close because as a kid I wore out the VHS, but take the cheesy one liners, terrible fx, fantastic music and silliness, and give it all to me, I love it.

By far my favorite Robert Patrick role (yes, more than T2). This movie is my kinda cheese, and I want more. Wish there was a sequel reprising the entire cast.

Maybe this film should be renamed as a "Double Disaster." This adaption not only failed to follow the source material, but the cheesy dialogue, plot, choppy editing and pacing and wooden and stale performances made the live action film rathet clumsy.
