For three misfit freshmen, the first day of high school becomes a living hell when Filkins (Alex Frost), the school bully, zeroes in on them. Chubby Ryan (Troy Gentile), diminutive Emmit (David Dorfman) and skinny Wade (Nate Hartley) all feel the wrath of Filkins. Realizing that their own chance for survival is to hire a bodyguard, the pals place an ad in the newspaper. Answering the call is Drillbit Taylor (Owen Wilson) ; armed, dangerous and completely fake.

Critics Consensus

Owen Wilson's charms can't save Drillbit Taylor, an unfunny, overly familiar bullied-teen comedy.

The action sags in the middle, but director Steven Brill gets mileage out of some funny cameos and good one-liners.

It's hard to imagine a bigger disappointment, or a more casual squandering of audience good will, than Drillbit Taylor.

An engaging enough picture, if a lesser work, from the talented Apatow stable.

Já tinha visto algumas cenas dele na TV aberta e deixei para assistir depois, mas só agora parei para ver o filme inteiro — e curti demais. Gosto muito desse gênero teen, é o tipo de filme que sempre consegue me entreter.

I honestly don't know why this movie is getting low ratings. I personally love Owen Wilson, and this movie didn't disappoint. It was funny, but, then again, I had been bullied myself as a child. It was a great movie. I also thought it had a great ending.

Really good funny movie..I'm not sure why Owen Wilson is so underrated as an actor but I love every film he's in. Kids were adorable and hilarious as well.
