In New York City for the first time while on his way to enlist in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, Oklahoma farm hand Claude Hooper Bukowski (John Savage) meets up with a freewheeling group of Central Park hippies led by the irrepressible George Berger (Treat Williams). When the unlikely friends meet upper-middle-class debutante Sheila Franklin (Beverly D'Angelo), sparks fly between the country boy and the city girl, and Berger's troupe attempts to keep the young lovers together.

Filme fraco, o roteiro é fraco, as cenas são fracas, a história é fraca, o elenco é fraco, e ninguém ajuda a melhorar o filme, os personagens são fracos, e o filme deveria ter cenas bem melhores e relevantes, para fazer o filme ser bom

Great choreography from the legendary Twyla Tharp, and a likeable cast - you can't take your eyes off a wonderful performance by Treat Williams. Personally, the scence with the enlistment boards is worth the price of admission. Maybe made ten years too late, though.

waited till this week to watch it , heard lots about it, referenced in numerous modern movies and shows, I was familiar with many of the tunes ,so I checked out the reviews and looked at the cast and settled back to be entertained, cripes it was bloody awful , a mess from start to mind blowingly terrible finish

First time watcher of this musical. I loved it. The silliness, the darker side, the choreography and the cast. I'm 34, and have tended to stay away from older movies that visually look dated, blame my dad for making me watch westerns as a kid when all I wanted was a musical. I genuinely felt sad at the end, thinking to myself, "I wonder if his dad is proud of him now". I'm glad I can say I've seen this movie now. Will probably watch again in a few months time.

From theater to cinema. The musical about a frustrated deserter and his encounter with hippie culture may seem anachronistic to some. Perhaps, but what makes it immortal are its songs and its legacy.

"Hair" tells the story of a generation. It is my favorite musical ever. It helps to have grown up during the era of "Hair." If you had, you would better understand the music, the lyrics, and the culture of the 60s. The movie is actually better than the Broadway production.
