Brilliant! Well written and brought to screen. Great cinematography and visually stunning. Epic proportions and tall tales. Filled with wonder and amazement with a little skullduggery included. Stellar cast all delivers convincingly in character. Lots of action, drama, suspense, intrigue and gritty knuckle busting. Fast paced and very entertaining

Brett Ratner’s Hercules ditches the mythological grandeur for a grounded, war-driven take on the legendary hero, delivering a solid action-adventure that’s more fun than expected. Dwayne Johnson is perfectly cast, bringing charisma and physicality to the role, while the film surrounds him with a strong supporting cast, including Ian McShane and Rufus Sewell, who add levity and grit. Rather than leaning into gods and monsters, Hercules frames its story around battlefield strategy and deception, making for a refreshing twist on the usual sword-and-sandals fare. The action sequences are well-staged, and the film maintains an entertaining pace, though its storytelling is straightforward and predictable. While it may not be the grand epic some hoped for, Hercules is a solid, enjoyable action film that benefits from Johnson’s commanding presence and a lighter, self-aware tone.
