The latter two stories, though necessarily too short and too schematic, generate some interest, and humor, and even a bit of characterization. Go to Full Review

The peak of 1970s horror flamboyance, dripping in camp and executing Bloch's narrative flourishes with the sort of ludicrous excess that characterises the best of Amicus. Go to Full Review

gungi T @WhatWhere 11 hrs ago A series of short stories imbued with gothic themes, as quickly becomes evident by the bookshelves among which classics such as E.A. Poe's rests, the four stories engage with the mysterious occurrences that define gothic sensibilities of the uncertain, unknown and uncanny. This attempt to gothizice the big screen, introduces in a genre typical fashion an unstable frame to narrate the events. As the real estate agent recounts the curious cases that have befallen the tenants of the seemingly haunted house, the narrative framing dictates an air of hearsay and moot storytelling. Indeed, all the stories create a tension of an ontological crisis that leads to a paranoid drive to ascertain what appears to be a skewed reality. In the end, the narrator concludes the stories and directly addresses the implicit viewer, effectively reinforcing the hermeuneutics that protrudes all stories: it is ultimately left to the viewers interpretation, whether or not these odd stories are believable See more Robert P @Superbad Sep 16, 2026 The House that dripped blood = a *3* star Movie! The House That Dripped Blood is a stylish and clever anthology with great atmosphere and strong performances, especially from Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. The stories range from eerie to slightly camp, and while not all of them land, the film’s gothic charm and thoughtful approach to horror keep it engaging. Imperfect, but definitely worth a watch for fans of classic British horror. See more Read all reviews
