Romas M @Romas Jul 27 Greetings from Lithuania. When it comes to plausibility, writing, complex characters, "I Know What You Did Last Summer" (1997) for me is a bulletproof movie. I enjoyed it when it came out in 1997, enjoyed it few times that I saw it back in the day, and enjoyed it even more upon revisiting it in 2026 on 4K disk that own. The cast it amazing - Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar - two sweethearts from the 90's, are both great in here. Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Prinze Jr. are also solid and fun to watch. This is very well paced movie that at running time 1h 40 min does not overstays it welcome, it always on the move and is fun slasher genre flick from the post Scream era. Overall, "I Know What You Did Last Summer" is pure 90's slasher flick. It is a very well made genre movie with a very memorable title, fun and energetic performances and excellent pacing. I personally really enjoy horror, but this movie does sort of miss the mark on the plot development, the title of the movie itself gives half of it away making the movie super easy to follow and too easy to make assumptions about early in the film. I did enjoy watching the whole actions have consequence’s part play out, the teens messed up and didn’t take accountability, and it came back to bite them.
