I'm sometimes mystified by how others review movies - criticizing the movie for inconsequential matters - like one line they didn't like, or just "not liking" one of the characters. I think this was a great movie - the story, casting, script, and acting were all realistic and moving. Radcliffe did a convincing job of holding his sh*t together even as he was losing it, but Alex, Joel, and Karl were convincing and sympathetic as well. I thought the cinematography was beautiful too. It was interesting to research what happened to these people after this ordeal. Yes, I'd recommend the movie - if you like a movie based on realism and characters.

Terrible movie, the stakes felt remarkably low for a literal life and death survival film, and the ending was horrendously contrite and weak. A good acting performance from Harry Potter but a script this weak could not be saved
