Critics Consensus

Mac and Me is duly infamous: not only is it a pale imitation of E.T., it's also a thinly-veiled feature length commercial for McDonalds and Coca-Cola.

A blatant commercial for McDonald's and Coca-Cola disguised as an E.T. rip-off.

It's an amazingly bald-faced copy of E. T. even though this is E. T. in a sticky wrapper, left under the heater two hours too long.

A mercenary display of product placement and a bad advertisment for filmmaking.

I would rate it lower if I could. It’s just a 1 hour 30 minute commercial for Coca-Cola and McDonalds. And blatant rip-off of E.T. It makes me want to right my ears, and eyes off. Worst of all is the aliens design, it makes me throw up out of all the holes in my face. The only good part was Paul Rudds acting in it.

The sad part is that they weren’t even trying to be funny…

Sinks too far to be a guilty pleasure I think. It's like the fed the ET movie through a hundred AI's and just went with whatever came out. Bunch of nonsense with no real payoff comedically or emotionally.

An absolute must see. It’s so bad it’s good. For best viewing experience, you should watch with the mystery science theater 3,000. The jokes are hilarious. Even though it’s an obvious rip off it’s so stupid and bad you must keep watching
