...Shoot the People provides a useful overview of his meteoric rise. Becoming the first Black artist to shoot a Vogue cover (a mere three years after he first picked up a camera in his 40s), his story certainly has a good hook.

They show subject’s photos but you cannot separate the activism from his work since his work & goal is documenting these issues. He even goes on to say there is no struggle if it’s not documented which means tree does not fall if you didn’t watch it fall. Not sure about this. Most of focus is on Pro Hamas & BLM so if you are not for these issues, huge skip! Doc actually promotes those tent student protests. Towards near end, it takes a weird turn documenting photographer’s trip to Oscars, yes, those Oscars awards! There was a pro Hamas protest nearby & so you see rich & famous contrasting with these protesters & sure enough subject is part of that rich & famous crowd so not exactly a good look. But then after event you hear him say he wanted so much to take pictures of those protesters & later at a movement claims protest & change are more important than Oscars. Bold words but his actions say otherwise.
