But it was! I remember watching this again and again when I was younger because I loved it so much. The colours were fun, the animation was good, the messaging wasn't as corny as you would expect. I had never watched FiM until this year, but even watching this all back then the plot was easy enough to follow, giving barely any spoilers to the actual show and requiring very little background knowledge to enjoy it. Perhaps my judgment of this film is clouded by nostalgia to this day, but regardless it is fun. The OST has no skips, and although it is short it is great and memorable. A great thing to come of this film was if you wanted to dress as the characters for fun, you now had a human base to work off of if you didn't want to create a costume from scratch out of fear of misrepresenting your character's personality. See more Joel H @786Joel Jun 9, 2026 I’ve watched many episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, and my daughter used to be obsessed with My Little Pony: Equestria Girls, so I don’t know how, exactly, I avoided watching this movie in its entirety until now. This is basically an extended episode of the series. It trots along a very familiar plot path and doesn’t stray from the established formula. That being said, I laughed out loud a few times (gotta love Pinkie Pie) and the music is enjoyable. Though I’m now realizing I can’t think of a single specific song. Oh well. I still prefer the series, but Equestria Girls is entertaining. See more Cameron W @Cameronwoods Feb 2, 2026 It definitely hasn't held up in my opinion just feels like some DeviantArt fanfic some dude at Hasbro wrote and the fact I liked MLP and was a Brony at all still makes me question myself but anyways the villain Sunset Shimmer god I hate that I remember her name is the most generic bully character ever but I guess the demon form is cool. It definitely however does get some things right like it definitely feels like MLP Friendship is magic and the animation is good but besides that nothing to write home about. If I had a daughter I would rather let her watch this then Tung Tung Tung Sahur See more Carlos B. @Physicalmediagod Nov 24, 2025 I watched equestria Girls for the first time, and I gotta say I like everything about it the music, the animatronics, and the characters were the best.
