K F @Karenreallyread Oct 9, 2026 As a person with schizophrenia I often find these shows puzzling not because they are not true but because they never depict those of us who need help but pass for normal. We have very difficult lives and suffer unnoticed. Our psychiatrists medicate us and tell us how well we are. Our outcomes are often very poor but you won’t find us wandering the street and thinking we’re God. We are invisible, often treated like crap and spend much of our lives alone. But unlike those people in this show we don’t cause trouble. I know now at 50 I would have got more help in jail. See more Robin C @RCarrlaw Jun 1, 2026 Nobody Cares About Crazy People is compelling, heartbreaking, and hopeful. I watched much of it with tears streaming down my face, knowing how many of these stories would end. At its center is Ron Powers and his family. Dean Powers speaking so openly about his illness & the loss of his brother was deeply moving. Scenes with Honoree were especially difficult, knowing the family would later endure another unimaginable tragedy. The participants were remarkably brave. Carmelo and Kendra Burgos and their sons shared their struggles with extraordinary honesty. Comments like "It’s the whole family’s illness," and "I’m tired of being tired" capture a central truth: serious mental illness affects entire families. The Rippee family’s support of Mark was inspiring. The story of Miles Hall showed how tragedy can become a catalyst for change. Painful, honest, and unforgettable, this documentary shines a light on realities too often hidden from view. Thank you to all who shared their stories. It touches the heart as well as and mind. See more Laurie S @RT44104069 Apr 25, 2026 What an interesting and important documentary about mental health and what this country needs to do about it.
