Alex B @AlexBioni Sep 30, 2026 A Pellet Expander This was the first Paranormal Activity I saw in theaters. All my friends and I would watch these movies, and then high school came around and this came to theaters, so we went to see it. I liked the story in this one. The comedy got a bit stale at times, but I still thought it was funny. I liked creepy little Robbie and his socks and sandals. I also really liked what they did with the green dots, but they were used so much throughout the movie only for them to barely matter outside of one scene, which got old. The formula was very noticeable here, and the pacing could have been better. Again, for a Paranormal Activity movie, it's kind of lacking in the paranormal stuff. It does bring in new plot elements and continues the story from the other films, but the movie is also pretty predictable. The ending is crazy, but then it just kind of ends. Overall, this one is pretty forgettable. See more Nathan J @TribianiRamoray Sep 24, 2026 Rated: 4.8/10 ⭐️ I wanted to see if the Kinect camera trick held up. It’s meh; the tech gimmicks are cool, but it loses the scary, slow-burn magic. What Worked: • The Kinect tracking dots revealing invisible stuff is a genius idea I really dug. • Newton gives a super believable performance as a freaked-out teen. • Katie returning as the weird neighbor adds fun franchise lore. The Friction: • The story totally dragged for me, making pacing sluggish until the very end. • Jumpscares felt super recycled and cheap, relying on loud noises. • The chaotic ending honestly just left me frustrated instead of scared. Verdict: It’s meh. Watch for neat tech gimmicks. Skip if recycled scares bore you. See more Robert P @Superbad Sep 19, 2026 Paranormal Activity = a *1.5* star Movie! See more Benjamin W @Code70 Sep 10, 2026 Better than I expected it to be, but it does mark the point where this franchise started to lose steam. As far as positives go, the premise has proven surprisingly durable by this point. The concept remains reliably entertaining here, with a number of effective sequences and scares. I also liked the characters here maybe more than ever, especially Ben, enduringly played by Matt Shively. But even though it remains decently effective, this is the fourth entry, and you can really feel that. The same ideas are explored here once again, it’s still following the central story centered around the first three, and once again, it ends in the worst way for everyone involved, expect the demon. It’s the exact same formula done for the fourth time, and the results are beginning to diminish pretty severely. There’s also some goofy moments in here, and I didn’t find any of the twists very shocking this time around. So this one didn’t really work. Not bad, but the gimmick is losing its potency. The mystery surrounding Robbie keeps things interesting for a while, and the final act delivers some creepy moments. But the formula is becoming repetitive, the story feels stretched, and too much of the franchise's mystery has already been explained. A decent but increasingly familiar sequel.
