The story will be completely predictable to adults, but the appealing animation and the briskly paced adventure ... should keep most viewers interested ... [The movie has a] message about how true love can be found ... if you have self-acceptance first. Go to Full Review

The first half seems to set kids up for serious body image issues. But the film eventually gets to making the point it wants to make -- it just goes the LONG way to get there. Go to Full Review

Feels like its plot, setting, and dialogue have been run back and forth several times through a translation algorithm. Go to Full Review

A second-rate Shrek rip-off which somewhat disturbingly mixes knockabout kids' humour with the premise of the Farrelly Brothers' Shallow Hal. Go to Full Review

Olivia D @P3acc3 1d This animated adventure boldly goes into topics typically reserved for more mature audiences, though it has a moral lesson that is easy to grasp for younger audiences. It was obviously meant for children, however, it's still enjoyable for all audiences. The movie is visually appealing, and has solid visual storytelling. Though the plot is a bit lackluster, it serves its purpose to entertain. See more Tia P @RT31722638 Apr 21 I honestly thought this movie was amazing especially when I was younger and going through a hard time, watching this movie made me laugh and also feel better about myself. The point of the movie comes across perfectly clear and I believe it’s a great way to show children or even some adults how important self love is and also being comfortable with yourself. Fuck the haters🖕🖕🖕🖕 See more Jaslyn T @Bxby_jasie Feb 22 I recently put this movie on for my kids - it was mainly for my six‑year‑old daughter, but then my eight‑year‑old son got completely invested too. We all ended up laughing because it’s actually really funny and super cute. What I loved most is the message. It taught my son something important: you don’t like a girl just for her looks — you like her for who she is. The movie shows that in such a simple, kid‑friendly way that he understood it right away. Overall, it was a great family movie night. Definitely five stars from us. See more Matt M @Cjsheehj Dec 11 This is a painfully dumb movie. Someone asked the question "what if we made a princess fat and unattractive?" And made an entire movie on that premise. It’s supposed to show true beauty is more than skin deep, but instead it just heavily confirms that fat people are ugly. I mean they literally have a cursed fat girl put on magic slippers that make her pretty and thin. It’s just a fundamentally flawed movie in every possible way See more Leanne D @RT01758117 Nov 19 As a woman who grew up with body image issues, I cannot believe this is even a movie for kids. The movie begins with a "cursed" girl who is on the larger side who finds magic shoes and becomes a skinny princess. This is targeted toward young girls who are at a vulnerable age to begin having body image issues when this is portrayed. I made my 7 year old turn it off. See more Elenel T @RT16801278 Oct 19 This isn't the movie you need to watch when you want a new and original story. This isn't the movie you need to watch when you want to be blown away by a plot. BUT this movie is fun. The storyline is cute and I love it. See more Read all reviews
