Charlie Fineman (Adam Sandler), who lost his family in the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, still grieves over their deaths. He runs into his former college roommate, Alan Johnson (Don Cheadle), and the two rekindle their friendship. Alan himself is feeling the strain of family and professional responsibilities, and his renewed bond with Charlie gives both men the strength to carry on during a turning point in their lives.

Mike Binder likes to fatten up his movies with side stories... These asides are distracting and enjoyable if a little flabby in places. This detracts from what is mostly a thoughtful, even stupefying study/comedy of human frailty.

Wow- Adam Sandler was outstanding in this movie. Gives great insight into understanding pain and grief and how grief is individual and doesn't just fit a schedule.

I can't believe the good reviews for this. It was mind numbingly boring. I watched half before I went to bed and half the next day, but I had to force myself to carry on watching it. I don't like giving up on watching something that I've started. I don't like Adam Sandler as I think he's terribly boring and a lousy actor, and I do not understand his success, but I thought this film would be good, but I was wrong. Next time I will stick to my previous decision of not watching anything that Adam Sandler is in. His character was extremely irritating and the mumbling was annoying. I realise the role he played was a very sad one, but I don't think he was right for it. I also found a lot of the characters unconvincing and I had no empathy for them. apart from Don Cheadle, who was good in it.

This is my favorite movie. Adam Sandler really hits deep for me. Such a sad, yet warm, masterpiece in my opinion. It makes me wonder why he didn’t pursue more dramatic roles.

Mike Binder did a great job telling this sad story. This is definitely one of Adam Sandler's best movies ever. It is just a shame that no one seems to know anything about it.
