Muscalu C @costi.musc Oct 3, 2026 A really beautiful insight on the American dream that was once pushed onto people in the 1950s. It definitely has a pretty steady pace which keeps you seated, eager to see what happens next in Frank's and April's life, and the answer is never to be expected. The end, in my opinion, had a faster pace I didn't really appreciate but it was so exciting and well written I kept trying to figure out what happens next. Not life changing but definitely a good watch that gives you an insight on what life felt for some people back in those times. See more Isabella H @MrsHamilton Jun 2, 2026 Watched this movie for English and had no idea what this film was about. I expected big things because it had Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio. I was not disappointed. They both delivered powerful performances that carried the movie. Micheal Shannon was absolutely brilliant and delivered his few scenes with incredible talent and completely took over the screen. I originally thought the movie was average, but after reading the book I understand more about what the intentions were. I do think that it works better as a novel and prefer the book, but the adaptation did do it justice. Obviously because it's a movie you don't get as many answers to questions as would be preferred, and they can't include every single thing from the book. I think to fully enjoy the movie you need to read the book, preferably before watching the movie. This is definitely a must watch for those interested in themes of conformity, feeling trapped and desperation. 5 stars. See more Chris V @ZP170 Mar 22, 2026 Escaping the inescapable. People try and fail without knowing why. When the solution becomes apparent your comfortable life will unravel. See more Leaburn O @RT35452347 Feb 23, 2026 A film with little to say but so much to say about middle class suburbia, the rat race and crushed dreams. The cast and acting are top notch. A slow burn, a slow end, could bore people but it’s a classy understated picture. Watched on DVD. See more Read all reviews
