It’s all about as laborious as it sounds, with Wilson, utilizing his familiar style of motor-mouthed pathos and desperation, working very hard to infuse comic energy into the strained proceedings.

A misbegotten misfire in which Owen Wilson tries to get laughs out of a fact-based story about a dumbass dad who loses his kid at a rap concert. Funny, it’s not.

... manages some scattered laughs amid the aggressive product placement. Yet despite Wilson playing along, it’s ultimately too strained and predictable.

Witless and annoying, Rolling Loud: The Movie is just a long promotional video for the Rolling Loud Festival, with a tiresome parade of bad jokes, idiotic slapstick comedy, and a predictable story about father/son relationships.

They can't make it the thriller it really wants to be because that would make Rolling Loud look bad so the end result feels like an advertisement for the festival. Feels very corporate

Together, these actors make Rolling Loud: The Movie a much more tolerable affair than it would have been otherwise. While it is no comic masterpiece, it is entirely watchable, which is more than I can say about plenty of other 2026 comedies.

Rolling Loud: The Movie is okay. Predictable, kinda silly, and ultimately nothing memorable. It takes this grimy, drugged-out festival environment and somehow turns it into this wholesome white father-son comedy. Maybe it’s just not for me to understand, because the whole thing felt mad white, bro. This man really learns Travis Scott’s “FE!N” to impress his son. 😂 I hope that part didn’t actually happen in real life. The whole kid-getting-lost situation doesn’t make much sense either. Dad spends the movie searching for him while lying, committing crimes and getting dragged into all kinds of debauchery, then eventually has his kid driving illegally while they’re both risking their lives. Meanwhile, after wondering where the hell this kid has been the whole time, we finally get the reveal at the end and meet the little wild child he disappeared with. I know it’s supposed to be ridiculous, but none of it was particularly exciting or surprising. For a movie built around Rolling Loud, it somehow feels strangely safe and sanitized. A few laughs here and there, but mostly just… eh. Best part was the boobs… but I’ll keep that inside my head.

When the movie starts, there’s a title that says that it is based off of true events, but the movie seems a little too fictionally. Also, the comedy seems a little forced, but the movie does have its moments and the footage of the concert is pretty amazing.

If you love to laugh, music and concerts. You’ll definitely love this movie. Maybe a touch of something else and it will totally be a 5/5
