Buddy W @BuddyW Feb 8, 2026 Slow moving but creepy mystery that does a good job of making you wonder whether or not there's actually a monster in the house, if the house is haunted, or if the star character is crazy. Scream queen Brinke Stevens, who is famous for cheapy movies like Slumber Party Massacre and Nightmare Sisters, is given a juicier role than she usually gets. The lead actor Chris Harder is very cute and spends most of the movie in a tank top, boxers and bare feet - which stands out because he is playing a flip role reversal on the Final Girl trope. The rest of the cast is small - I think there were only 4 other actors (with the exception of an opening bar scene), and there's an icky role of the dead/dying mother played by Judith O'Dea who was "Barbra" in the original classic horror movie Night of the Living Dead. What's most interesting is that after you know how it ends, go back and watch it again for an all-new perspective. P.S. I just found out there's a sequel, but I haven't seen it yet. See more Nov 4, 2017 Fairly suspenseful thriller. Acting is good. It's low-budget but well done. I particularly liked Brinke Stevens in a bigger supporting role and Judith O'Dea (Night of the Living Dead) in an effectively creepy role. The lead, Chris Harder, holds the movie well - important because most of the movie is him by himself in the single location. And I really liked his very pretty wife Darcey Vanderhoef. Know that the movie moves along at a slow pace but picks up speed at the half way point and has a few good jumps. Watch for the coffin scene if you want your skin to crawl. - Jim Holden See more Read all reviews
