Critics Consensus

Juvenile even by Scary Movie standards, this fifth installment offers stale pop culture gags that generate few laughs.

It's supposed to be funny, but you'd have an easier time reading a zombie's pulse than you would finding a single good laugh ...

For the art-house crowd, who may, I suppose, stumble drunk into the wrong theater after too much Chardonnay, there are nods to Black Swan and 127 Hours.

This feels akin to being bombarded with an array of skits before the MTV Movie Awards in the early aughts. There is no skill or substance, as it feels like headlines and titles were pulled out of a hat and randomly inserted.

Aforementioned media-attention malcontents Sheen and Lohan may briefly revel in the cheap frivolity of this vacuous vehicle but for others, Scary Movie 5 is nothing more than an 85-minute smirk that has nowhere to go...groundless, gross guffaws.

worst movie i've ever seen in my life. the most forgettable and unfunny film in the franchise. they forgot to add comedy to the movie, and the sound and special effects were terrible. i even feel bad for having watched this whole mess until the end.

What the hell. This film is so bad I nearly turned it off. Not funny at all and filled with inappropriate jokes that aren't funny. 2 Stars.
