Critics Consensus

In spite of solid performances from Kate Hudson and John Krasinski, Something Borrowed is an unpleasant misfire that lives down to its title.

What a drag it is, this journey from planned matrimony with the wrong girl, to till-death-do-us part with the right one.

From its empty soul to its poorly framed shots ready for pan-and-scan conversion, Something Borrowed seems primed to play on Saturday afternoons on E!, sandwiched between reruns of Keeping Up with the Kardashians...

This is another supposedly female-friendly motion picture that secretly hates women, making both of its main two characters as unappealing as possible seemingly every step of the way.

I don’t know why some reviewers are so harsh! It does what easy-to-watch romantic comedies are meant to do. The acting is great, the relationships are believable. It’s not an amazing film, by far, but it’s a great guilty watch with snacks and your girls :)

Probably the worst movie I have ever seen. Nothing compares to it. 0/10. Painful.

This movie sucked the soul out of me. 0/10 most painful watch of the year (and it's January 1st). If these characters went to the AITA subreddit, everybody would be the buttface. All the characters are so shallow, evil, terrible, very bad, and no good. The writing was so terrible and lazy that this movie felt longer than Return of the King (LOTR). Instead of watching this for 112 minutes, watch a fork in the microwave for the same effect!
