At once a spoof of, and loving tribute to, '70s-era visions of the future, Space Station 76 nods to 2001 in numerous ways.

This may look like a wacky spoof of 1970s sci-fi, but Jack Plotnick's beautifully designed comedy-drama actually has a lot more on its mind.

Daringly changes tone, and challenges expectation, without ever missing the beat. The acting and the design are consistently spot-on in their homage to the '70s, but it's smarter and deeper than the gag-fest you might expect.

More of a space age melodrama reflecting nostalgia for a bygone era of storytelling in its mixture of vintage and modern tone, it's as sweet, sad as it is often laugh out loud hysterical.

This is one of the best space films I've ever seen. It's approach is light, and there is plenty of fond throwback to 70s films and the TV show Space 1999. The people aboard this space ship are leading complicated, unsatisfying lives. As the plot slowly unspools and the characters' lives slowly unravel I became aware I was watching something more more akin to a Eugene O'Neill play than a goofy sci fi spoof.

Not without it's charm, but not enough of it to last the entire film.

A unique and darkly funny film (with a top-notch cast) about dysfunctional relationships and connections set in a funky 1970s take on the future.

Not funny, and no real plot. Waste of time.

Quirky and unpredictable, both funny and sad, showing its improv roots. Totally engaging and deeper than it would seem.

This movie had the potential to be really good...but, it was just boring.
