See more Damian M Jun 24 Such a fun bad movie, great action, American power flick See more Christian C Apr 8 This movie starts with several of the worst action/firearm tropes in all of film… First, ‘action hero with pistol fights off (and probably kills) multiple attackers with automatic rifles’. Just *stop* doing this… Anyone who’s ever fired a pistol knows that they’ve got a hard cap on how effective they are beyond about 50 feet. And the idea of winning a shootout with about six hostiles firing AK-47s at you? Ha! Second, the ‘bad guys want to take the hero prisoner for some reason?… even though they’re in the middle of a shootout and the hero hasn’t even been disarmed?’ thing. In this case, the protagonist then kills the distracted gunman with - ahem - a flare. I just can’t. I’m so over these types of dumb, Western power fantasy stories. Aside from the pathetic notion that local militia members with a lifetime of training are laughably inept, there’s the added lmfao element of the main character being *a pilot.* Someone who’s probably never been in a firefight in their *life.* Seriously, the alien hybrid things are more believable than the ridiculously dumb action sequences here. See more The R 07/15/2024 If you want to jump into this to just try and get something out of a horror flick - you need to totally turn off your brain - and probably being just a little bit drunk would not hurt either. The dialog is really bad. I get the feeling that there was no American military advisor on this one at all. Everything from the uniforms to the jargon is just off. The accents are just bad - to the point of being distracting. My guess is they were all Brits or Australians and they really should have just gone with that. The "story" would not have suffered one bit by changing the nationality of the soldiers involved. See more Read all reviews
