Beck (The Rock) is a tight-lipped bounty hunter who doesn't like to use a gun and accepts any job without asking questions. Critics Consensus

The Rundown doesn't break any new ground, but it's a smart, funny buddy action picture with terrific comic chemistry between Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Seann William Scott.

The Rock and Seann William Scott work up some nice comic chemistry, but it's the dependably warped Walken who steals the most scenes. The frenetically edited fight sequences will satisfy the blood lust of the target audience.

With charm, style and just a bit of winking intelligence, Johnson shows a magical ability to carry a picture from start to finish. If only the movie was worth the star's winning efforts.

A buddy-adventure where Johnson's Beck and Scott's Travis trade laughs and punches while dodging Walken's ruthless warlord in the Amazon.

The Rock and Scott play an unconventional buddy team that has a similar dynamic to Robert De Niro and Charles Grodin in Midnight Run, but without the acting ability or comic touch.

The Rundown‘s tolerable and periodically engaging atmosphere is due almost entirely to the charm of (and chemistry between) The Rock and Scott’s respective figures...

Johnson and Scott’s chemistry makes this action comedy fun, despite being a little messy. The more formulaic parts of the story are balanced out by some inventive touches, making it good, if not quite awesome. Still, I enjoyed it, and it definitely made me laugh.

I don't understand all the negative reviews for this fun movie. It's got the Rock playing a bounty hunter and Seann William Scott as the son of a rich jerk who wants the Rock to bring him home. There is plenty of fun scenes to watch as their working their way through the jungle. Great camaraderie between the Rock and Scott. There's a lot of action, fun hearted comedy scenes, and to top it off. It has Christopher Walken as the bad guy. My recommendation is to rent the movie and watch it, but don't get hung up over the fact that the movie is making fun of itself and the characters.
