In ancient times, the gods of Asgard fought and won a war against an evil race known as the Dark Elves. The survivors were neutralized, and their ultimate weapon -- the Aether -- was buried in a secret location. Hundreds of years later, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) finds the Aether and becomes its host, forcing Thor (Chris Hemsworth) to bring her to Asgard before Dark Elf Malekith (Christopher Eccleston) captures her and uses the weapon to destroy the Nine Realms -- including Earth.

Loki is the only character who makes himself new and interesting. When he is around, Thor: The Dark World becomes a different film altogether. You wish there was more of him. The rest of it is metal clanking.

Many people spoke negatively about this movie but I genuinely enjoyed it! Thor was never meant to be a comedic character but a serious one! This film delivers the serious Thor we all know.

Far better than it gets credit for, Dark World is a delight once you rewatch it without all the baggage of competing with its predecessor. I was never born during its runtime. And o found the plight of the villains compelling, even if I wish the aliens looked a little less like Nosferatu!! Otherwise…this gem REALLY deserves a second glance.

Considerando que o primeiro filme já é bem fraco, esta sequela consegue ser ainda mais desinspirada, só não sendo pior do que o quarto filme da franquia. O argumento é confuso e arrastado, focado num dos vilões mais patéticos da Marvel, o Malekith. O visual sombrio e sem graça de Asgard reflete a própria falta de alma da produção. O humor forçado na Terra quebra constantemente o ritmo e a tensão. Apenas a boa química entre Thor e Loki salva o filme de um tédio completo, resultando numa obra esquecível e fraca.
