See more Apr 20, 2013 This is the point where Tobe Hooper landed in true dud territory but it isn't beyond terrible. See more Dec 6, 2010 Complete mess of Gnosticism, lesbian snake cults and vague Sadean philosophy with a decent turn by Englund as the Marquis - but not much from Finley. Hooper seems to be freely mixing Russell, Gradiva and Franco's Eugenie de Sade with liberal jabs at Christianity. Lots of recklessly staged dream sequences, obvious symbolism, lame mise en abyme, and rough plotting. Pretty hard going, probably best reserved for completists.
